Hey, I’m Abhay—part designer, part storyteller, and fully obsessed with making digital experiences that actually make sense.
My journey into design didn’t start in a classroom—it started with filmmaking. I was fascinated by how stories unfold, how emotions are captured, and how visuals can guide an experience. That same curiosity led me from editing timelines to exploring user flows, and from directing short films to designing digital products that real people use every day.
Fast-forward a few years, I’ve now worked across industries like B2B SaaS, AI, EdTech, and HealthTech—helping fast-moving startups turn ambiguous problems into products that find market fit, fast. Whether it’s building platforms from scratch, designing for scale, or jumping into scrappy MVPs, I’ve thrived in messy, high-speed environments.
After completing my Master’s in Design Thinking at McMaster University, I had the chance to collaborate on a VR project with St. Joseph’s Healthcare and work with the City of Hamilton’s public service—bringing design to sectors where impact really matters. That’s where I learned that design isn’t just about screens—it’s about people, systems, and the ripple effects of good decisions.
Outside of work, I host the Design Hat Podcast, where I chat with designers and product leaders from companies like Meta, Google, Microsoft, and beyond—diving into the real stories behind the screens. It’s my way of staying curious, staying connected, and giving back to the community that’s shaped me.
I believe great design sits at the intersection of business, behavior, and beauty. And my goal? To keep building things that are not just usable, but useful—with a little spark of delight thrown in.
